Galatians 6:1-6
What if the story you tell this year is marked by the ways you love and serve others?
Do you ever find yourself focusing too much on your own wants, needs, and desires? It’s a really easy trap to fall into, but all throughout Scripture, God invites us to get our eyes off ourselves and focus on other people. In the passage you just read, Paul calls us to "Carry each other's burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ" (Galatians 6:2).
Do you know someone who is currently carrying a burden on their own? What would it look like to step in and help them carry it today? Maybe it’s meeting a tangible need, like helping them pay a bill or ensuring they have food. Maybe they just need a little encouragement and a reminder that you are in their corner.
Whatever it is, take some time today to serve them without asking for (or expecting) anything in response.
Prayer
Father, thank you for the friends and family you’ve placed in my life. I know I tend to think about myself, but today, I want to be really intentional about serving someone else. I pray that you put someone on my heart to serve today. Remind me of a tangible need that I can help meet and give me the time, creativity, and confidence to step up and serve. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
